Asif Aziz is feted for philanthropy and owns much of the capital's West End. Residents of the businessman's south London housing complex are more concerned about infestations.
This is wonderful - and I still think it is sad that your influence is half because you do such a good job and half because in this city of more than 10 million people you seem to be the only one doing this kind of work. The. Only. One.
Thank you Jim for doing a fantastic piece of investigative work. If only more journalists were motivated to work in this way - or indeed ALLOWED to - the world would be a better place.
Best wishes for all your future vital 'lifting the carpet'.
Thanks for highlighting this. After being evicted with dozens of renters in 2022 from the rat-infested and seriously dilapidated (and now liquidated Amity College Ltd) in Bank Buildings in Wimbledon whose building landlord company Wallhill Limited has Haroon Abdul Aziz as a former director, I went to Delta Point in Croydon in innocence looking to rent another room/flat, only to find staff never got back to me about viewings, and when they finally did after weeks, they wanted proof of my earnings, and I had read their reviews! By the way title deeds of the Bank Buildings name nearby Colliers Wood tower as the owners' address, owned by companies associated with Aziz. Many of the more recent Criterion and Dstrkt buildings are registered to 18-20 North Quay, Douglas, Isle of Man!
Amazing how you’ve just pulled on one string and found this whole web AA is involved in. Goodness knows how many other people/stories like this are out there. Just so much we don’t know about this city.
Sadly, I fear Spivus Callidus will be as hardy as Blattella germanica, and no amount of rolled up newspapers can swat him away. As with all your articles dear boy, sobering stuff.

*Shudders*.
Good work by Lizzie Dearden; thanks for shining a light on this Jim.

My Latin is rusty but serviceable:
Deviantia Socialis
Opportunista Oeconomici
Criminales Minuti et Astuti
Operarii Subdoli
Spivus Callidus
